Well, I’m probably not anywhere near as stoked about October being here as Eva Halloween, but I’m pretty giddy about my favorite month finally arriving. Mostly because now’s the time when you don’t have to feel bad if you spend a Friday evening lying on the couch watching a few select horror movies – something that’s just perfect with the dark and the cold slowly creeping in.

This month will see me adding a nice chunk of Halloween-themed artwork to both my Society 6 as well as Red Bubble (I love the sticker format!), and I decided that instead of spamming this blog every two seconds – which lately’s got me feeling like a one trick pony – I’d advise you to join me on Facebook at to keep track of what’s happening as I’ll post news a couple of times each week. That way I can finally get back to posting other stuff here.

Speaking of which; The top image was the first out of a batch of classic skulls inspired by Impko!, if anyone remembers those. Entitled Skull 01 (yeah, I know, not the world’s most imaginative title) it was mainly intended as a sticker, but then I thought “what the hey?” so it’s also available in the usual formats such as art prints, t-shirts, iPhone skins etc. Again, join up on my Facebook page to get the latest news. And now for The Misfits‘ classic:

Misfits reunion?

September 1, 2012

Well, here’s a bit of news that’s making its round on the internet right now: in an interview with Broward Palm Beach New Times bassplayer (and only current original bandmember) Jerry Only stated that a reunion with Glenn Danzig was not completely out of the question.

“I could tell you things that would make your head spin. Nothing is out of the realm of possibility right now.”

That might not sound like much, but considering the, ahem, less-that-loving comments that’s been made by him and Glenn in the past this was apparently enough to start the rumors of a Misfits reunion. If it happens only time will tell right now, but I’m cautiously optimistic. Read the complete interview here and enjoy one of their many classics below:

Misfits Week!

July 23, 2012

So, I pretty much spent all weekend finishing up the sleeve for the upcoming third installment of Dead by Mono‘s garage-compilation No Way Out! with The Misfits keeping me company on iTunes. I love this band and along with Black Flag, Flipper, Circle Jerks, Poison Idea and a few others they were one of those US hardcore outfits that really stood out – soundwise and creatively.  Their debut Static Age is just an amazing album filled to the brim with classics such as We Are 138, Hollywood Babylon, She, TV Casualty etc. etc.

Anyway, yesterday while finishing up the six-panel poster – as always the CD sleeve folds out into a nice, full-color poster – I decided to not only write about the usual stuff on my blog this week, but to add a couple of their songs as well. Let’s start off with one of their classics, and for you movie trivia buffs – name that movie that apparently inspired the lyrics!

Kodak Moment

December 16, 2011

Whoof! X-Mas came early and through the mail yesterday! Just look at this package I received from No Balls Records as a “thanks” for doing the Vagora/Darrow Chemical Company Halloween split pic-disc 7″ back in October! Wow! We’re talking 3 CD’s and the same amount of 7″s, a 10″ EP plus a pic disc LP  from The Undead featuring Bobby Steele (ex-Misfits) (who’s first 7″ EP Nine Toes Later is a horror punk classic I might add – check it out!), the latest 10″ from The Dwarves, one album plus a 7″ from Electric Frankenstein, the new 4-song EP from Mondo Generator, and more 7″s from Joey Image, Adam West plus the new album from Borracho!

I don’t know what it is with receiving records in the mail that makes me feel like a kid all over again. Maybe it’s just plain nostalgia ’cause you might not believe this kids, but there was a time when you couldn’t buy cool records any other way.  You’ve been spoiled by the internet and visiting record stores where the guy behind the counter actually has a clue, ha ha ha. Anyway, speaking of The Undead; here’s my fave track off their EP:
